Software engineering is a discipline that deals with the creation, design, testing, and upkeep of software systems. It is concerned with applying engineering ideas and practices to software development to ensure the software is efficient, dependable, and scalable. To produce software that satisfies specific needs and addresses real-world problems, software engineers employ a variety of programming languages, tools, and processes. They collaborate with other specialists such as designers, project managers, and quality assurance experts to build and deploy software applications.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR SOFTWARE ENGINEERING
The criteria for admission into the programmes will be as follows;
UTME
The entry requirements shall be senior secondary certificate (SSC) credit passes (WASC; NECO or equivalent) in five subjects at not more than two sittings. Such subjects shall include English language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics. In addition, an acceptable pass in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) is required for admission into 100 Level.

EXPECTED DURATION OF THE PROGRAMME
UTME: Four-Year (4) academic sessions or Eight (8) semesters)
In general, no student will be allowed to exceed an additional 50% of the normal duration of the programme.
TITLE OF DEGREES TO BE AWARDED
The title of the degree shall be “Bachelor of Science” in Software Engineering
